Monkeys might not be the first thing you think of when you think of Luray, but the Luray Rescue Zoo has been a staple of this town & always a great activity to do with kids. They help support & rescue so many amazing animals, this is a great chance to learn a little more and support a great institution.

Feeling a little adventurous? Bear Mountain Zip Lines at the base of Shenandoah National Park is a fun way to spend an afternoon & see the mountains from a whole new angle! They offer two different courses depending on your activity & fear of heights - and even have a scrambling wall to get ready for rock climbing the park. Plus, they’re super close to the Thornton Gap entrance which is perfect to do as you're starting or leaving your Shenandoah National Park adventure.'

This one isn’t exactly in Luray, but a fun one just the same! Just off of 81 is Route 11 Potato Chip factory where they make some of the best local chips you can ask for! They have a beautiful store front where you can see the production line to learn about what makes these chips so special & maybe try a taste or two? This spot is close to 81, so perfect as you’re coming or leaving your weekend getaway to the Shenandoah Valley!
